First let's just acknowledge the mustache for a second. This video was recorded November 1st, the day after Halloween. My family and I go all in on our costumes and my wife and I went as The Dread Pirate Roberts/Wesley and Princess Buttercup from The Princess Bride, so I had to shave down to that thin mustache. And then I woke up sick, and that explains the voice.
I'm still really happy with how this redesign came together.
I allowed the available assets on Envato Elements to drive the design style. It can be a lot easier and smoother to match the look of an asset than it is to design a style and then match assets to it. It's not cheating, it's working smart. 🤓
Overall you're seeing my Radical Design Process compressed into a one-shot. I adopt the inspiration from Matt, curate and experiment on the fly, and then unleash and iterate until I like what pops out.
